How to Enter to Win Prizes for Reading This Summer!

Prizes1
Most of our prizes – but not all

Register for our Summer Reading Program and enter to win a whole mess of prizes! There are two categories of prizes you can enter to win:

  1. Bi-weekly raffles, or
  2. Grand prizes.

Bi-weekly raffles are easy, with lots of prizes available, and only reading is required: one book read = one raffle ticket. Deposit your ticket in whichever prize bucket you like, and that’s it. You can enter as often as you like.

There are three bi-weekly raffles this summer, and the cycles are:

  • Cycle 1: Sunday, June 25 – Saturday, July 8
  • Cycle 2: Sunday, July 9 – Saturday, July 22
  • Cycle 3: Sunday, July 23 – Sunday, August 6

Grand Prizes are a little more involved. All grand prizes are categorized as missions, require a completion of certain tasks, which may include reading for a certain number of hours, reading from a specific book list, and/or helping out in your community. Once you’ve completed the tasks for a specific mission, you’re automatically entered into the grand prize drawing.

Below is a list of prizes you can enter to win. All prizes will be displayed in our foyer display case in the library beginning July 3.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Harry Potter Party!

To mark the opening of the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, opening Thursday, November 17 and based on the J. K. Rowling book of the same name, the Rodgers Memorial Library has planned a Harry Potter party!

Anyone arriving in theme-appropriate costumes will go home with a special prize, and we’ll be raffling off some Harry Potter door prizes, including two (one child, one adult) tickets to the Thursday, November 17, 6pm of “Fantastic Beasts” at AMC in Tyngsborough!

Walk through Platform 9 3/4 and “visit” Hogsmeade with a trip to Honeydukes, which features Bertie Botts Every-Flavor-Beans, Cauldron Cakes, and Fizzing Whizzbees! (Honeyduke’s will also be featuring some treats from Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, including U-No-Poo and Puking Pastilles – yum!)

Hop on over to the Three Broomsticks and sip on some delicious butterbeer and (non-alcoholic – sorry, kids!) fire whiskey!

Create your very own wand, and play some Quidditch, then settle down in the Hogwarts viewing area to watch trailers from the movie “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” followed by “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” on our big screen! Come join us! Register here.
